my drive-thru story

Hi Aggressivefatloss lovers,

I was at Jack in the Box getting 3 hard shell tacos and an Oreo milkshake almost every Tuesday and Thursday in 2008.

Tuesdays and Thursdays were the days that I had meetings on the other side of the county and it was a lot easier for me to go through the drive-thru and not run into people that I knew.

It is a bit comical now that I look back on it. I can reflect and find the humor in some of my ways, but deep down, it still is pretty sad.

The story always gets people because those that have been overweight before totally know the feeling of hiding in your car to eat. It’s so foreign to me now as I don’t operate like that anymore, but I surely relate to those that have been there.

I remember sitting in my truck…

A friend of mine drove by in his 4-runner and made eye contact with me while I was in the parking lot of Jack in the Box.

I don’t know what I was so surprised or embarrassed about… He knew I was fat. He knew I ate junk food.

But something about the reality of him seeing me committing the crime made it really click in my head.

THIS was my moment. This was the moment where I stopped doing what I was doing.

Another friend told me… “Almond Joy candy bars are not pre-workout food… I am worried about you bro.”

Goes to show, I was working out (1 day a week really) trying to be somewhat healthy, but not really being focused… Doing all the wrong things.

So people tell me “You’re robotic,” “You’re not human,” “Live a little….”

PEOPLE! I want to live a LOT, not live a little.

It’s okay to live your life with some boundaries. There’s nothing wrong with finding that feeling that keeps you committed.

I still do splurge.

I love good tasting food. Heck, I was fat. Duh, I love(d) food.

That’s why I still keep tasty things around.

One of the things I just started using to spice up my keto tacos or maybe to use as some dip is the Good Lovin’ Almami Sauce – FREE 3-PACK SAMPLE HERE (only pay shipping)

Made from the same people that brought us the Good Lovin’ Bar, comes an epic sauce that you would never think is keto friendly and no hidden nastiness to it. But the best part is, this is an exclusive free sample pack for those that are on my newsletter (it pays to be an insider 🙂 )

Here’s the link that gets you the sample pack of all three flavors: Smokey, Zesty, and Savory: FREE SAMPLE HERE (couple bucks shipping)

Not sure if you’ve ever tried that brand called “Bitchin’ Sauce” before from Costco and other stores…. this tastes similar but better (in my opinion) and has what I would consider more “Approved” ingredients.

What’s funny is that after I finished this 35 mile, 35lb backpacking trek in 10 hours the other weekend… I splurged on pizza.

Amazing what that did to my brain.

It’s like I was reliving some of my traumas.

I stopped at 2 slices.

For one, I was already full. Secondly, I didn’t like the psychological place it took me too.

It made me sad and reminded me of cruddy days where I was dark and depressed.

So the point is simple. It’s okay to have good food and enjoy life. But be cognizant of those triggers.

Heck, the last time I was at a Jack in the Box was probably 4 years ago to get an Iced Tea…. and even that set me off.

Life is about knowing your triggers. Be careful and be wise, but don’t make life too short.

See you tomorrow, and don’t forget to try the new Almami Sauce Here.
