Hey Aggressivefatloss.com Lovers,
A lot of times I wake up feeling nice and trim, and by the time the afternoon or evening rolls around, I feel like I gained fat.
My logical brain tells me “of course you know you didn’t get fat throughout the day, it’s probably just water…”
But the emotional side of my brain (which still remembers being 300lbs before) brings back all kinds of triggers.
Forget the physiological reasons behind bloating for a minute; for a lot of us, it’s a mild psychological trauma/trigger.
“Is it happening again? Am I gaining the weight back?”
“I’ve been doing everything right, why did I gain 6lbs since this morning… I give up”
Sure, there’s the people that have never been overweight before, and bloating is still a nuisance for them, but for people that are already overweight or have BEEN overweight, it’s a big, big trigger.
So, eliminating or reducing bloating is less about the “quick fix” and more about reducing something that brings back so many TERRIBLE feelings.
Here’s a Couple quick things to do to reduce the bloating:
1) Don’t Drink TOO Much water with a meal – This can dilute the stomach acid a bit more and temporarily might slow digestion. Then as a feedback mechanism, the body might produce more acid in an effort to compensate. So this can make you feel uncomfortable later on. Instead, wait 20-30 mins (or have it before) to hydrate up more.
2) Reducing Stress through things like Chocolate, Reishi Mushroom and Turmeric. When you’re stressed, your body diverts blood flow away from digestion. It may seem negligible, but it’s very, very real. And if you’re chronically stressed, it’s a big problem. I posted a video on this today on the channel.
>> I’ve been using Organifi’s CHOCOLATE GOLD drink at night for the last 3-4 months because it has Reishi Mushroom (adaptogen that helps with the stress response), Turmeric for inflammatory responses and Chocolate and it only has a couple grams of carbs, so it’s like I get to sip on hot chocolate at night.
They gave me a code AFL for my readers to save 20% off Chocolate Gold (or any other drink) – You can get it right here
3) Another one that is critical is being aware of a zinc deficiency. It is an easy supplement to take, or you could eat pumpkin seeds or shellfish as they are rich in bioavailable Zinc. Zinc plays a longer term role in our ability to produce hydrochloric acid.
Think about it… less hydrochloric acid = slower digestion and food lingering in your gut for a longer period of time.
Eventually this can lead to bloating and really make a dent in your waistline at the end of the day.
4) Reduce High Fiber with High fat. Not that you cannot combine these, but if you’re eating a massive cheese pizza and also having 16 tbsp of flax, it’s going to cause a serious issue. I like to separate high fiber from high fat with given meals. That’s why so many of the lower carb bars that combine inulin with 20g of fat might make you feel bloated… especially on keto.
I think the biggest thing to be aware of though, is your STRESS and your BREATHING.
If you’re stressed out a lot and you’re shallow breathing, you’re also probably gulping air…
This leads to more bloating than you may think (and gas too).
Don’t ignore the basics. Lifestyle is everything, and I promise you it will help.
